Terms and Conditions
iStaff Substitute Teachers

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the iStaff Substitute Teachers platform (“iStaff,” the “Platform,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.
1. About the Platform
iStaff Substitute Teachers operates a private, invitation-only platform that connects schools in Michigan with vetted substitute teachers. Schools post substitute teacher openings, and approved substitute teachers may claim those openings. iStaff operates exclusively within the State of Michigan.
2. Eligibility and Access
Access to the Platform is restricted to approved users only. There is no public sign-up. Accounts are created and granted only after a review and vetting process.
- Schools must be authorized representatives of a legitimate educational institution.
- Substitute teachers must be approved and vetted by iStaff prior to receiving access.
We reserve the right to grant, deny, suspend, or revoke access to any user at our sole discretion.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate and current information.
- Keep your login credentials secure and not share them with others.
- Notify us promptly at contact@istaffsubs.org of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Posting and Claiming Openings
- Schools are responsible for the accuracy of the openings they post, including dates, locations, and requirements.
- Substitute teachers are responsible for honoring openings they claim and for arriving as agreed.
- iStaff provides the Platform to facilitate connections but is not a party to any agreement, arrangement, or employment relationship between a school and a substitute teacher.
5. Relationship Between Users
iStaff is a facilitating platform only. We do not employ substitute teachers, do not guarantee placements or coverage, and are not responsible for the conduct, performance, qualifications, or actions of any school or substitute teacher. Any employment, compensation, or contractual relationship is solely between the school and the substitute teacher.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
- Share, transfer, or sell your account access to anyone.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Platform, other accounts, or our systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Platform.
- Misrepresent your identity, credentials, or authority.
7. Communications
By using the Platform, you agree to receive account-related and operational communications by email. We also offer text message (SMS) notifications related to job openings and account activity. You will only receive text messages if you have provided your mobile number and consented to receive them, and you may opt out at any time by replying STOP. Standard message and data rates may apply.
8. Intellectual Property
The Platform, including its design, features, and content provided by iStaff, is owned by iStaff and protected by applicable law. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Platform without our written permission.
9. Privacy
Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your information. Please review it to understand our practices.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any opening will be filled or honored.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, iStaff shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising out of or related to your use of the Platform, including any disputes between schools and substitute teachers.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Michigan.
